Events

Our group holds a wide range of events, here are a few examples...

Meals out

Some of our most popular events are meals out, both at lunchtimes and in the evenings at the various local restaurants.  Full afternoon tea is also popular and can be at a local tea shop or in a hotel, including on occasion in London, for example, at the Intercontinental or Ritz Hotel.

Cultural events

Our cultural events take in theatre productions, concerts, art exhibitions, museums and visits to interesting buildings.  Our members enjoy a wide range of music and we go to events involving jazz, musicals, rock and pop and opera.  We are lucky to be close to Glyndebourne and see at least one of their operas in the autumn each year.

Walking

Our keen walkers put on their boots for walks of 6-7 miles.  We take a packed lunch with us, and often stop somewhere for afternoon tea before heading home. We also do shorter walks of about 3-4 miles, usually coupled with lunch at a local pub.

Excursions and days out

Many of us enjoy events such as racing, visiting gardens and trips to cities, for example, trips to Oxford, Canterbury and other historical places.  We have also organised short trips abroad to cities including Barcelona, Vienna and Madrid.
